Beef Rib from Smoke Queen. Had a slight Asian taste with the sweet sauce. Not sure why you need to sauce it. Perhaps the sauce melds with the savory dry rub, with the refreshing green onions. Maybe that’s the LA taste or justification for $40 a beef rib. Had to have it once. Not sure if I will order it again or recommend. The brisket was nice and tender, but I would have liked it if the fat was more rendered. The bbq pork (bell) chashu, was too tough. Definitely won’t order that again. The chicken rice, nice concept, didn’t have a lot of the expected taste.

Had the Hawaiian style garlic shrimp. Fried with the shell on. I would have liked it without the shell. If I remember correctly, in hawaii, I think the shrimp was stir fried without the shell. Regardless, it was pretty good. I’d order it again

And lastly, had the dumplings. Too bad they were out of the chicken dumplings by 11am. I bet they didn’t even have that day. The pork was good. The beef was unmemorable. The veggie was ok. Their cooking style is quite traditional. Except I would have liked a more crispy skin. I think the unique fillings and wrapper colors were the big draw. I’d order again, just to try the chicken… … . @smokequeenbbq @maosbao @eatshrimpdaddy @tastemakersapp #tastemakersapp #thirstypig @smorgasburgla @rowdtla #sunday #eats #eeeeeats
