Niko Sando, Brentwood
Japanese Sandos from Niko Sandi had the egg salad and the pork cutlet. Also had the takoyaki. Would definitely go again and would highly recommend. Small shop tucked in quaintness of Brentwood.

Taiwanese lunch at Pine and Crane in dtla. We absolutely ordered way too much.
Weekend brunch at Morning Delight Cafe in San Gabriel had a couple of the egg pancakes - with sausage and pork. They were out of the tuna ones. Also had the peanut butter toast and a hash brown. Unfortunately the egg pancakes lacked egg - I think it was a small one too. The peanut butter toast barely had peanut butter. I really wanted to like this place but I don’t. I love a good Taiwanese egg pancake 蛋餅 I also like their concept. But at those prices and the execution - I can’t say I like it. The other couple of times I tried to go they ran out of food before they closed, which pissed me off. Anyways. I cannot recommend. And I will not return.
Diamond Jim Cut at Lawry’s The Prime Rib the Yorkshire pudding, creamed corn, and cream spinach. Great meal. It’s had been a minute since I was last here. I’m hope next time isn’t as long.
Had a chance to visit Lou’s Café in Westwood thought it was really good. I kinda like this interior better than the Ktown one I like the counter. It’s kind of cool to sit at a counter. This time we had the chicken rice and also the Hong Kong style toast. The toast was really good at inside. It had condensed milk, which is sweet. It’s actually a really tasty dessert. Again I would recommend and I would visit again. Just like the ktown one. Amazingly they have a nice following with small menu.
Katsu at .la.official had waygu and pork katsu. A5 Wagyu Tenderloin Cutlet Set Meal And the Kurobuta Pork Loin & Tenderloin Cutlet Set Meal. With the scallop cutlet topped with salmon roe. The Wagyu pieces were practically raw then they provide a hot stone to sear the beef. Each beef piece was quite tender and had a great mouth feel. Would order again. Make sure you open up yelp and get in line before you arrive - otherwise your wait is way over an hour.
Jian Bing from Rowland Heights! This is a Tianjin Jian Bing which is different from the Shanghai ones with the egg on the inside. Inside the Bing we had 3 eggs, a hot dog, a crunchy crisp cracker, and various sauces and spices. Our Jian Bing maker is from Shandong. Yu Ji Stone Mill Chinese Crepes - on Jellick, near Colima.
David Chang’s Super Peach at century city mall. Had the savory donut - with curry, the spicy green salad, and pork belly ssam. TBH the pork belly ssam wasn’t what I was expecting. I was expecting a thinly sliced traditional version. But this was pretty good.
Knife cut beef noodle soup at Shang Artisan Noodles. Was recommended and did not disappoint. Would fully return when I go back to Vegas. Knife cut noodles are my favorite style of noodles. The spicy beef broth was a bit too spicy for me . . . Yes I’m a bit wimpy like that. The south wontons were tremendous. The tender beef brisket was abundant, tender, and flavorful. Should shot a quick pic of the cucumber salad. . . 台灣牛肉麵
lunch with old friends in Koreatown. Liu’s Cafe. Beef Noodle Soup, Braised Pork over rice, Shredded Chicken over rice, Sesame Noodles, and spicy wontons. Yummy. Everything was great. Would recommend and would visit again. Next time I would try the toast
Japanese cuisine in Pasadena. Yakiniku. The best thing we had was the beef bone marrow fried rice. The grilled beef was very good. Great service. Would return again. . . . 🐮
American Whiskey Maker - with their Cool tasting room with pretty good pizza from . They had few different old fashioned including a peanut butter banana, S’mores, strawberry cheesecake, and a toffee. I couldn’t decide what to get, since they sounds interesting - so I got a flight to try them all. Unfortunately, after the first 2 - they tasted similar since I was starting to get a buzz. I think it didn’t help, when I also ordered a flight of their whiskeys to taste, too. So 4 different old fashioned and 4 different whiskeys. It was a good night. Good to see some old friends in Seattle. Had a great time. Old log cabin was the perfect place to finish off the trip. . . .
