Shanghai Italian Restaurant List

Italian restaurants in Shanghai are some of the best. I’d argue that Shanghai would rank near the top worldwide with its diverse Italian restaurant scene. Here are the some of the top ones I have visited and haven’t.

Italian Restaurants I have visited and posted about. Pane e Vino – a small restaurant that seems to be crowded every night. One of my friends favorites.

Da Macro 大马可意大利餐厅 – An Italian friend of mine loves this place. But make sure you go to the original. 103 Dong Zhu’an bang Lu, near Zhenning Lu,

8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana – This new restaurant, the Michelin-starred original is from Hong Kong, brings its take on fish and meats.

Colabo 水城, 衡山店 – This underrated restaurant features a great crab pasta.

Others I have either visited and haven’t written about Bocca – Opening this month, April 2012, Bocca features great views of the Pudong Skyline. I was at the opening party just a couple of weeks ago. Tried many of their great dishes. The Kitchen Salvatore Cuomo – Right on the waters of the Huangpu River, Salvatore is one of the more expensive restaurants in Shanghai. They feature great pizzas. Went there with a small group. Issimo – Located in the Jia Hotel, in the Jing’an Temple District, Issimo has been an expat favorite for years. Had a great experience with a large group of friends.

My Short List – Other restaurants I haven’t visited, but want to Bella Napoli Il Nascondiglio Yuzu Va Bene
