Finally made it to the hyped Chubby Cattle in Rosemead

Finally made it to the hyped Chubby Cattle in Rosemead. This place has been the rage on the interwebs with their curry restaurant and high end joint - @chubbycurryla and @nikuxla

On @reddit there was some controversy about @chubbycattlebbq source of Wagyu beef, since their claim was boosting something almost unheard of. I don’t remember the details, but I do remember someone from the @chubby.group responding to each question - which was admirable.

Anyways … The Rosemad location offer a $28 yearly membership for some benefits and discounts - which we forgo’d. So we each had the AYCE for $65ish for 90 minutes. The restaurant space was quite small, with less than 20 small tables inside with a few more on the outside. I thought it was a bit cramped on the inside.

The meat quality was surprisingly good and had to meet our high expectations from the hype. I did enjoy the meat which was only offered in grill grate form, no other option like a cast iron grilling plate. The accruements - with sauces, veggies, and assorted sides were ok.

Unfortunately for a guy like me with a gout condition, this was a special and rare occasion for me to have AYCE beef or steak. I don’t have it often. Yes I know this is a contradiction since I’m also a certified Barbecue judge. But at least this allows me to savor beef when I have on rare occasions.
