What is Tikka Indian Cuisine? In the heart of the Shanghai, there’s a new Indian Restaurant, Tikka. The little restaurant area near Maoming lu, Jinxian lu, and Changle lu. Tikka originates from the same group from Nepali Kitchen with great Indian dishes. Their large space is decorative for traditional Indian dining with intimate floor seating.

What did I eat? We tried several flavorful dishes, including samosas, chicken tikka, adraki chaap (Grilled Lamb skewers), and Subz Biryani (vegetable rice). I liked the Subz Briyani – it was a like a fried vegetable rice that was a little wet. I liked the combination of vegetables with the rice. The bowl, which looked small, had an amazing amount. The secret to Indian food, I believe, is the dipping sauces. I like the spicy and the cool minty ones. We also had curries, which is what Indian food is all about. We had a chicken curry and a cottage cheese & spinach one. The Chicken Curry was good, as expected with the spiciness. But what was unexpected was the cottage cheese & spinach, the Saag Paneer. This was a unique combination of tastes and textures that played with the coolness and creaminess.

Constructive Criticism I am not qualified to say anything regarding Indian food. I don’t have enough experience in understanding what is really bad, or what is really good. I know that my experience at Tikka was more than just good.

The Last Word Tikka is a place where you can bring friends who may not be interested in East Asian cuisines. Indian, which can be considered almost exotic, is a unique experience. But unfortunately, I don’t believe that Indian food is a place to enjoy with beers. But people may argue the spiciness goes great with a cold beer.

If you go with a large group, that have a pretty cool long communal table.
