Char Terrace, Hotel Indigo – Shanghai’s Best Rooftop Daytime Views
Nighttime views of Shanghai aren’t hard to come by, with M1NT, Flair, Vue, and Bar Rouge. But there’s a new player in town, Char Terrace at the Hotel Indigo.
This vantage point is unique in which it offers breath-taking, panty-dropping views both during the day and at night. The river front properties and Pearl tower on the Pudong side and the Bund views all showcase what Shanghai has to offer. I recommend getting seats right on the edge to see the buildings and structures. At night, you’ll notice the river barges floating by. Though it looks as if they are cruising blindly with hardly any lights on.
On Sunday’s there is the special afternoon Chilled Sunday promotion for RMB 99 for a mixed carafe, featuring Bloody Mary’s, Sangria, or Pimms Basic. It will run all summer from 2:30pm till 5:30pm.

Luckily, we got nice weather. Really amazing views.
The only thing I worry about is the hard wood floors. I hope they made them weather proof for the harsh Shanghai elements.
I would argue that Char has the best outdoor rooftop views in Shanghai
You can’t miss the hotel - just down the Bund
The high chairs and tables allows you to both enjoy the skyline views and cocktails. The low slung coaches, which maybe comfortable, don’t allow you to see much of the city lights.
