Off the beaten path, so to speak, Mo Zai Yang sits on the outskirts of Taipei proper serving up Lamb – any way you like it.

Lamb is more of a Northern Style delicacy, not typically enjoyed by Southerns, including Taiwanese. The gamy flavor is not appealing to all, which holds the same feeling as westerners do. But on this night, on Mr. G’s insistence, we had to try Mo Zai Yang.

You venture into bustling system to manage large crowds, just as you walk past the brightly colored signs. One thing you will always notice are the nice signs that these little mom & pop restaurants have. It maybe ugly and dirty inside, but they will have the nicest sign.

The set special for 4 – for NT 1500, included lamb on skewers, hot pot with lamb shanks, raw lamb slices for the hot pot, gelatinous lamb, and noodles. You could tell immediately the northern influence with the noodle offering, rather than rice. Though I am not a huge lamb fan, I knew I had to make the best of it. The gaminess is actually a nice flavor, which goes well on a hot night with ice cold beer. The hint of spiciness on the skewers with the noodles brings down the craziness of heat a notch. Perhaps we should had more beer.

Anyways. . .very interesting experience. I would recommend it to anyone to try.

What to Order: Try to get an all inclusive meal set that has everything. What not to Order:
