The Korean Taco Truck! – Kogi BBQ
Right outside my friend’s birthday, Kogi had stationed itself right outside on the sidewalk. We were lucky to have them nearby. I only wish they didn’t have to leave so early and wished they would have come back around 2am…
Kogi BBQ is one of the newest eating and feeding forms in the last few months in Los Angeles. This roving taco truck produces a fusion between Mexican and Korean cuisines. You’ll find the korean marinated meats – beef, chicken, and pork, as well as tofu . . .melted together with Mexican forms of starch – tortillas to form tacos and burritos. Who would have thought?…
I’ve had the spicy pork burrito, chicken tacos and spare rib tacos. Each of them, the right size for standing and eating. The tacos were quite tasty. Before you know, you could finish 3 or 4 of them in one standing… I am glad that the spicy pork or chicken is not to crazy spicy. Again, my fear of BTS (Burning Tonkomong Sensation). http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=BTS
I know that Kogi usually goes to Venice beach and sometimes to Sunset Junction. I would hope in the future, that they could come to downtown Los Angeles or to San Gabriel Vally.
After doing some research, I have found that New York has a taco truck in the form of a roving dessert truck. http://www.desserttruck.com There is also the green truck for organic meals, as well. http://www.greentruckonthego.com/ Perhaps this could be a new trend for eating and feeding on the go.
I would like to personally thank Danny & Carolyn for setting up Kogi to be at the party.
