Holy Roly ice cream. Peanut butter Reese’s ice cream. Interesting dessert but it takes a bit of time for each order. I think half the experience is watching them make it. Slab, spread, scrap, enjoy. . . . .
Late night meal in DTLA at the Original Pantry Cafe. Breakfast all day and night. Country fried steak and eggs with potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, and chicken noodle soup. I love this place. I like going on weekends and having breakfast at the counter. Hate the long lines. . . . .
Little gifts from wife. Wife went to Bordeaux and Madrid. Can’t wait to try it! . . . .
Liang Pi 凉皮, Beef Noodle Soup, and Rou Jia Mo at Qin West. I asked for mild Liang Pi and my mouth was on fire. FIRE - I say! But it was good. I must and always have to have the Rou Jia Mo 肉夾饃. . . . .
Taiwanese dinner at Monja Taiker. The shaved ice with soft boiled peanuts and condensed milk is my favorite combination. We also had the fried red pork on rice, chicken roll on rice, Taiwanese sausage on rice, and spicy wontons. Unfortunately the rice was too sticky (too much water). Other than that, we liked everything. I think we would return. . . . . .
Japanese Sandwiches at Pillow Talk in Pasadena. Pretty good sandwiches. I like the hot tamago egg sandwich the best. The egg salad sandwich with the hard boiled egg was also very good. Heck anything with egg I will probably like. The avocado mango sandwich was surprisingly not bad - and I don’t crave avocados. The tiramisu drink was interesting - probably won’t order it again. Other than that I like these sandwiches and would gladly return and recommend. Who cares what and all those others say if they feel Pillow Talk allegedly copied Konbi certainly didn’t invent these sandwiches, they were one of the first to copy them from Asia. . . . .
. Ramen! . . . . .
Watching my Cleveland Browns play at SF 49ers, at Levi’s Stadium. Too bad the Browns lost. Had a great time. Great seats. Awesome 49er crowd. . . . .
Enjoying the Saints game at the Voodoo lounge. Abita beer, cider, and a bunch of bloody Mary’s. . . . ⚜️
Thai dinner at Summer Summer Thai. Summer roll, crab Rangoon, corn fritters, pork steak, beef, and curry noodles. Yummy. Summer rolls make you feel less guilty. Could eat almost everyday. . . . .
Simple Dinner at Sinbala. Fried pork chop on rice and pork belly on rice. Sinbala is a small popular Taiwanese Restaurant. They also have traditional Taiwanese shaved ice, where you can pick and choose your toppings. Nowadays, most shaved ice joints have pre-set combinations, often times with stuff you don’t like. . . . .
