Unfortunately Top Restaurant only does take out. Make sure you call in the make sure they still have chicken available. I know first hand since this wasn’t the first time I tried to get their fried chicken. I recommend this place and I would go again. . . .
Tempura from at their latest location in Pasadena. Tempura with udon noodles, soba noodles, and their tempura sushi. People were lining up before they opened. Yummy! Had tempura at their South Bay location and this place does not disappointment either. Would gladly visit again, just hopefully without a line. . . .
Lunch with classmates in Old Town Pasadena. Trying to be healthy - so we decided on Sage Bistro - vegan cuisine. Awesome space with a nice outdoor patio. I remember this space was brewery when it first opened. Anyways . . . We had the street tacos with carnitas (jackfruit with carnitas seasoning). It was quite yummy. Also had the grilled chicken (tofu) salad. Both were really good. Also I saw they had a Bloody Mary, but this time I had it with mezcal instead of vodka. Would visit again and would recommend! . . . . . .
Iced tea and snacks at Superb in Pasadena. . . . . .
Hot chicken sandwiches from Main Chick in old town Pasadena. Got the dark meat chicken sandwich with mild spiciness. I know I couldn’t handle anything spicier. Also got some spiced fries, coke slaw, and some Mac and cheese. The dark meat is juicy and had a nice mouth feel with the tender chicken and crunchy crust. . . . . . .
Outdoor dining at Gozen Shun. Simple Japanese lunch in Pasadena. Tonkatsu and miso Black Cod, with tempura and karage. . . . . .
Had some bone marrow and birria at Pepe’s red tacos. Bone marrow at a taco truck. Awesome. The birria with the consume was also decadent and rich. So good. So glad they are in Pasadena. Special shout out to .nike for the intro! . . . . . .
Japanese sandwiches from Pillow Talk in Pasadena. Egg heaven and the Okonomiyaki sandwiches. Yummy. I love eggs. . . . . . .
Outdoor Sunday happy hour at Foothill in Pasadena. They turned their parking lot into and outdoor patio with coverings and umbrellas. Looks like a lot of people liked this place. Plenty of space for proper social distancing. Check it out. Thank you very much for the olive oil. . . . . .
Smashed burgers at Pasadena’s Smosh Town. So chilly to be eating outside. But the burgers made it worth it. Nice taste of the pure burger and cheese. Whoever thought of the taste combination of beef with cheese is a genius. Fries were also pretty good. . . . . . .
Tonkotsu ramen at King of Ramen. Pork and soft boiled egg was really good. One of the better ramen joints in SGV and Pasadena. But the chicken karage was not so good. . . . .
Rotisserie chicken and Tri-tip shawarma plate from Zankou Chicken. Haven’t had the beef, since we usually have the chicken. Their famed garlic sauce/paste is something that you must ask for. Make sure you ask for it!!! The tahni sauce is also really good, as is the hummus and pita. If you haven’t gone to zankou. You gotta go. . . . .
Japanese Sandwiches at Pillow Talk in Pasadena. Pretty good sandwiches. I like the hot tamago egg sandwich the best. The egg salad sandwich with the hard boiled egg was also very good. Heck anything with egg I will probably like. The avocado mango sandwich was surprisingly not bad - and I don’t crave avocados. The tiramisu drink was interesting - probably won’t order it again. Other than that I like these sandwiches and would gladly return and recommend. Who cares what and all those others say if they feel Pillow Talk allegedly copied Konbi certainly didn’t invent these sandwiches, they were one of the first to copy them from Asia. . . . .
Pasadena Greek Fest. Gyros, Souvlakia, Baklava, and chicken souvlaki. Yum. The Gyros are awesome!!! Going on all weekend 9/20-22 . . . .
Big Ben Combo at Pie n’Burger. I don’t remember having the burger here. I think I always came for breakfast or just pie. But this time, was Burger time. It was a truly good experience. Juicy, almost to a fault. With the crisp lettuce to break up the rich cheesy double patty burger - was ideal. I know a few people would like a burger to be meat cheese and bread - no veggies. But you need the pickles, lettuce, and even the tomato to complete the whole taste and mouth feel. And I think pie n’Burger did just that. The thin diner style patty was what I just wanted. is right about the thin patty. And I also love burgers! was right! . . . .
Garlicky Tonkotsu Ramen at Hironiro Craft Ramen. Nice char on the chasu pork. Rich flavorful and garlicky flavor. Spicy, too. The shoyu ramen looked good too. The fried chicken appetizer was juicy. Ate too fast. . . . . .iwamiya
Brunch at Paul Martin’s American Grill. Crab cake Benedict’s, short rib hash tacos, salmon fish tacos, trio of ribs, chicken, and shrimp, brioche French toast, and some table biscuits. Pretty good. Great location and great space and roomy bar. Food was ok lah, not memorable. . . .
Lunch at The Crack Shack in Pasadena. Had the Coop Deville sandwich, Hot Chicken Oysters, Slaw, and Schmaltz Fries. Fries were amazing. . .
Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake Ice Cream from Coolhaus Pasadena. Unfortunately, I had to share. 😩😎 . . .
Truffle Fries and burgers at Umani Burger in Old Town Pasadena. We also tried the impossible vegan burger, which was pretty good. Yum! . . .
Fried chicken and accoutrements at The Crack Shack. Fried chicken with sauces, biscuits, deviled eggs, and schmaltz fries. So glad opened one in Pasadena. Good food with good people. So glad the Lakers won and the Browns won! . . .
Saturday brunch at Magnolia House in Pasadena. Chicken and waffles, pork belly with egg Sandro, and chiliquilles . . . .
OMG! Can you taste it? . . . .
Hot Pot lunch at Little Sheep in old town Pasadena. 小肥羊
Ramen for dinner at Tatsunoya in Old Town Pasadena. Wife’s favorite ramen joint. I thought it was pretty good this time. I also added the cheese, which she thought was overkill, with the rich fatty broth. Maybe it was. . . .
Happy hour grub
Modern Indian food at radhika south Pasadena
The 50/50 burgers and the 50/50 pizza burger. Onion rings and Mac and cheese balls.

I was here over the summer with family and relatives. And this is the ideal place to bring large crowds. Though its a chain, it does have a feel of a New York Italian restaurant, maybe on steroids. Wi
Lucky Baldwin is an English Pub with fare found from the other side of the pond. You’ll find Bangers & Mash, Traditional Meat Pies, and Fish & Chips.
Maybe I shouldn’t have said “Best” but it sure tasted like it that day. With the stars aligned, with a full moon, and on my birthday the meat consumed like gods on this day. Everything was clicking li

Everyone knows about DOT’s in Pasadena. . . . but not everyone knows about Violet’s. Violet’s is hidden behind the hustle and bustle of Old Town Pasadena. I recently went there after lunch to try some
