Lunch with classmates in Old Town Pasadena. Trying to be healthy - so we decided on Sage Bistro - vegan cuisine. Awesome space with a nice outdoor patio. I remember this space was brewery when it first opened. Anyways . . . We had the street tacos with carnitas (jackfruit with carnitas seasoning). It was quite yummy. Also had the grilled chicken (tofu) salad. Both were really good. Also I saw they had a Bloody Mary, but this time I had it with mezcal instead of vodka. Would visit again and would recommend! . . . . . .

Japanese Sandwiches at Pillow Talk in Pasadena. Pretty good sandwiches. I like the hot tamago egg sandwich the best. The egg salad sandwich with the hard boiled egg was also very good. Heck anything with egg I will probably like. The avocado mango sandwich was surprisingly not bad - and I don’t crave avocados. The tiramisu drink was interesting - probably won’t order it again. Other than that I like these sandwiches and would gladly return and recommend. Who cares what and all those others say if they feel Pillow Talk allegedly copied Konbi certainly didn’t invent these sandwiches, they were one of the first to copy them from Asia. . . . .

Big Ben Combo at Pie n’Burger. I don’t remember having the burger here. I think I always came for breakfast or just pie. But this time, was Burger time. It was a truly good experience. Juicy, almost to a fault. With the crisp lettuce to break up the rich cheesy double patty burger - was ideal. I know a few people would like a burger to be meat cheese and bread - no veggies. But you need the pickles, lettuce, and even the tomato to complete the whole taste and mouth feel. And I think pie n’Burger did just that. The thin diner style patty was what I just wanted. is right about the thin patty. And I also love burgers! was right! . . . .
