Seaside brunch with the family at The Cliff Restaurant in Laguna Beach. Great Views and outdoor seating. Perfect day to be outside. Forgot to take pictures of the view. . . . . . . .
Sandwiches from Lil Pickle. Had the Lil' Pickle Sub with Salami, Capicolla, Cheese with Oil and Italian Dressing. And buddy got the hot pastrami. The lil pickle sub is their most popular sandwich - I can see why. It is a solid sandwich with nice soft bread and good meats. But unfortunately I was craving more flavor - since I was chomping on a sour pickle with every bite of the sandwich. Maybe a little more salt or some spicy peppers were needed. Perhaps my friend was on target with the savory pastrami. Regardless I would try this place again to get a better gauge. . . . . .
Went to Dory Fleet Seafood Marley last Saturday. Got some Sea Urchin, Crabs, Spot Prawns, Sea Snails, and this abalone-looking thing. Regret we didn’t get any fish. Next time we will get more sea urchin, crab, and spot prawns. The Spot prawn line was crazy long and took a long time. The crab sold out fast. If you go on the weekends, make sure you get there early. Next time I need to wear gloves when I open up the Sea Urchin. . . . . .
Friday Lunch at Bruxie in Irvine. OMG. Didn’t know half a sandwich was so filling. Had the Irish nachos! . . . . .
Lunch at A&J’s in Irvine. We had the spicy beef noodle soup 牛肉麵, pork chop rice 排骨飯, fried chicken rice 雞排飯. The soup noodles were good. And the chicken too. But the pork chop was not so good. Also had onion pancake 蔥油餅. Needed a little more savory. . . . . .
Dim Sum lunch but without the iconic carts. . . . .
Summer Nights at the OC Fair. The bacon corn dog, corn in a cup with cheese, spicy Cheetos corn in a cup, and the giant turkey leg. So much junk food. Yet the consensus was that the food has improved at times he OC Fair. . . . . ._lindoris

Grilled Cheese Sandwich lunch with co-workers at The Melt, Irvine Spectrum. Egg hole grilled cheese.
Sunday lunch at Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata Ramen & Udon in Irvine. Had the standard Hakata Ramen, Cod Roe Udon, small side of the Beef & Rice Bowl, and the small Minced Chicken Rice Bowl. Ramen was good but slight too savory for me. And that’s saying a lot since I like savory. I should have tried a udon at this location but I wasn’t feeling adventurous. . .
Porchetta Sandwich at A tasty sandwich. But was a little disappointed in how they prepared it. I though they were going to pull out a large chunk of the rolled porchetta and have a big slice for my sandwich - instead it was chopped pork from a warming container. I expected bold flavors from the spice rub, yet was overwhelmed by green chutney. Right before they closed the sandwich, they added chopped pieces of the chicarrons/pork skin. If I didn’t I would have been more than happy. Then we also shared the cheeseburger poutine. The kids loved it. I wish they chopped the burger patty, like I asked them to.
As long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed eating hamburgers. But whenever I saw a pink color in the meat, I was told it was a “No-No”. Pink meant that it was non fully cooked, and perhaps unsaf
I’ve never been a big fan of risotto, let alone a take Japanese on risotto. But I must say, Cafe Hiro does it pretty good. Make sure you save room for their Pot de Crème au Chocolat.
This past week, I had to be in Garden Grove for a short meeting, and needed a pre-meeting place to meet & eat. After scouring yelp for breakfast places, I found the Omelette House.
Sorry but the picture just does not do the sandwich any justice. Just went surfing at Trestles and by buddy Truc tells me about this killer meatball sandwich place in South O.C. We roll up to this lit
