The Arnold Palmer at The Old Spaghetti Factory. Remember the Hollywood location back in the day? Now the closet one is in Duarte. This Italian American is a friend’s favorite. I didn’t realize how popular it was, even on a weekday late lunch time. . . . . .
Texas BBQ at Slab. Had brisket, of course, pulled pork, pork ribs, collard greens, Mac and cheese and corn bread. Too bad we didn’t come on the weekends for beef ribs. The the pulled pork and pork spare ribs were tender but needed sauce. The collard greens were a bit too salty, but I still like it. The Mac and cheese was slightly too runny. The cornbread with the honey butter was nice and moist, as it should be. The brisket was great. Love brisket. Make sure you ask for white bread to eat with the brisket. Enjoyed slab. Wondered why there weren’t more people there on a Friday night. I guess it is more of a day time thing. Regardless, I’m glad there weren’t any lines. . . . . .
Sliders at Bitez Burger in Sierra Madre. Baked burger Pattie’s and fries. Not fried and not grilled. From what I remember, Pinks in Hollywood is the only other place I remember that also bakes their fries. Bitez also has fry sauce - unique for socal, but popular in the Midwest. . . . . . .burger
Night+Market. Thai food in Hollywood. My first time here. I had heard about this place and had always wanted to try. Had the famous spicy chicken sandwich that was featured on YouTube. Also had the way too spicy and ass-fire papaya salad. And the rice noodle which I almost single handed finished since the papaya salad killed me. Luckily I had my drink, which I forgot the name, that helped numb everything down because of the spiciness. . . . . .
Early lunch/brunch at L’antica in Hollywood. Breakfast pizza, margherita pizza, and Pappardelle Genovese pasta. Enjoyed all the dishes. Too bad they didn’t have bloody marys. . . . . . .
Birthday lunch with some buds at APL in Hollywood. Texas Smokin’ BBQ. Beef brisket. Also had Cornish game hen, pulled pork, pork rib,, creamed corn, and coleslaw. Way too much for lunch. But well worth it. Been wanting to go to this place ever since they opened. I don’t know how anyone thinks there is a better BBQ brisket in LA. APL is legit And the best! Only wish I had a ordered the giant beef short rib ahead of time. They were out today. ☹️. much 💛 . . . . . . .

Snackin’ and Feastin’ at the Tom Yum Spicy Fried Chicken skin was amazing (yes I shouldn’t use amazing, but it was). also had the spicy Chicken sando with the bolo bun (HK Bolo (pineapple) bun) from and we had the coconut sundae with oink guava and another ice cream I expect a few more food vendors but we were already quite full. But all the vendors were quite good.
