Fish tacos and ceviche/aquachiles con mango
Fish tacos and ceviche/aquachiles con mango. Yummy. I think the fish was marlin and was grilled. Different and had interesting texture. The flavor was really good. Would recommend this place. . . . . . .

The Smosh Town burger. Crispy and tasty burgers! Tarot tots with chili and cheese. Yum . . . . .
Japanese sandwiches from Pillow Talk in Pasadena. Egg heaven and the Okonomiyaki sandwiches. Yummy. I love eggs. . . . . . .
Sandwiches from Lil Pickle. Had the Lil' Pickle Sub with Salami, Capicolla, Cheese with Oil and Italian Dressing. And buddy got the hot pastrami. The lil pickle sub is their most popular sandwich - I can see why. It is a solid sandwich with nice soft bread and good meats. But unfortunately I was craving more flavor - since I was chomping on a sour pickle with every bite of the sandwich. Maybe a little more salt or some spicy peppers were needed. Perhaps my friend was on target with the savory pastrami. Regardless I would try this place again to get a better gauge. . . . . .
Birria tacos, carne asada nachos, and ceviche. Yum. The tacos had so much braised beef, but unfortunately was a little dry. Wish we had a dipping sauce. Luckily the hot sauce was available. The nachos were great but was too much. The ceviche was good but the fish had a slight smell. Perhaps that was normal. I wonder what kind of fish was in the ceviche. Regardless I would still return. This place has so many things I want to try. . . . .
Burgers, beer, and the dodgers at Golden Road. Octoberfest at Golden Road. Got a cool dodger cup and octoberfest mug. Surprising the special octoberfest beer was really good. Also Golden Road has special outdoor seating that was perfect for our group. The pretzel was good with the mustard and cheese dipping sauces . . . .
Chicken sando at pikunico. Yummy. One of the best if not the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. Just enough spiciness and flavor. Good crunchy texture for mouth feel. The side salad was good too. I had the seaweed cucumber salad. All this for $15 for the dinela lunch deal. . . . . .
Breakfast in the OC. Bloody Mary for breakfast! Pork belly Benedict was delectable. . . . . .
Outdoor Sunday happy hour at Foothill in Pasadena. They turned their parking lot into and outdoor patio with coverings and umbrellas. Looks like a lot of people liked this place. Plenty of space for proper social distancing. Check it out. Thank you very much for the olive oil. . . . . .
Hidden gem in the SGV. Diner American/Mexican food at the El Monte Airport. Very cool spot to watch planes take off and land up close. Open during COVID. Outdoor seating. I had the Annia’s special ground beef omelette and friend had the chorizo and eggs. Yummy. . . . .
Went to Dory Fleet Seafood Marley last Saturday. Got some Sea Urchin, Crabs, Spot Prawns, Sea Snails, and this abalone-looking thing. Regret we didn’t get any fish. Next time we will get more sea urchin, crab, and spot prawns. The Spot prawn line was crazy long and took a long time. The crab sold out fast. If you go on the weekends, make sure you get there early. Next time I need to wear gloves when I open up the Sea Urchin. . . . . .
My favorite Ice Cream shop - moo creamery in Sierra Madre. So happy they’re open. Had the triple milk in a cup and wifey had the vanilla, as usual. And splurged on a brownie too. Brownie was surprisingly yummy. Have had one in a long time. Need to suppose our local businesses. . . . . .
Chicago Deep Dish pizza from Dough Box. Had the York - pepperoni and sausage. The crust was really good and held up. The tomato sauce seemed to be a bit watery. Too bad parking sucked and they don’t have a dining room. I would order again . . . . . .
Seolleongtang at Han Bat Sul Lung Tang. Beef and glass noodle in a milky bone broth. Great on a winters day. You get to season it the way you like it. . . . . .
Fish eating ice cream! Matcha and milk ice cream with fish shaped pastry. I like the soft serve. They also added a powdered flavor which you could barely taste. Not bad. I would go again. . . . . . .
Valentine’s Day dinner at Bavel. Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine. Excellent food, great service, and wonderful decor. Make sure you get the oyster mushrooms - my favorite of the night. . . . . . .
Injeolmi Bingsoo and the milk ice cream. The presentation was unexpectedly pretty awesomely nice. Didn’t expect that. The shaved ice was better than expected. And the milk ice cream was not overly sweet which was good. We came here wanting to go to another dessert place - which is now closed - but got lucky and found this place. Cafe Bora in K-town is a place we would gladly return to. . . . . .
Compass Box pest Monster Scotch. Great packaging. Really Smokey and peaty. I thought it was interesting and bold. But my friends thought it was a bit too strong. I dig the peat. . . . . .
In-N-Out Burger. They had single cheese burgers while I had to make it up with a glorious 3x3 - thee patties and three cheeses. Yes I should have gone for the 4x4. . . . . .
Porchetta sandwich at and pastrami burnt ends from ans rice balls and fried yucca from a place I forgot the name . . . . . .
The F.O. Burger! It’s all about their sauce. The unique flavor of the burger with their sauce makes this, what I think, one of the most notable burgers in a LA. Without a doubt! Also had the shoestring fries and chorizo balls. . . . .
My favorite Sushi Restaurant- Sushi Gen. Kaz is the best. Used to drink with him when they allowed it. Had many good times before and had a great time last night. Happy Anniversary! Had Uni, Hirame, Toro, Ama-ebi, Hamachi, Saba, and a few others. . . . . .
Feeling healthy and went to Veggie Grilll. Had the Santa Fe Crispy Chickin’ and a side of Mac and cheese. The sandwich was surprisingly good. The Mac and cheese was tasteless. Ugh. I was told if I eat meatless lunches I am less likely to fall asleep after lunch. Might try once a week . . . . . .
Smashed burgers at Pasadena’s Smosh Town. So chilly to be eating outside. But the burgers made it worth it. Nice taste of the pure burger and cheese. Whoever thought of the taste combination of beef with cheese is a genius. Fries were also pretty good. . . . . . .
Friday donuts with the team! Trejo’s donuts. . . . . . .mx
Tonkotsu ramen at King of Ramen. Pork and soft boiled egg was really good. One of the better ramen joints in SGV and Pasadena. But the chicken karage was not so good. . . . .
New Year’s Day brunch at Granville. Liked the Mac and cheese and the housemade potato chips . . . . .
