Cold Dish appetizers at Shanghai Restaurant in San Gabriel’s Focus Plaza. Diced vegetable and tofu, shrimp in shells, sweet soy fish, sliced preserved pork, and cucumber with jelly fish. The fish tasted like beef or pork with a flakey texture. Today, while sad due to the passing of a LA icon, was joyous in celebrating the 100 days birthday of our dear friend’s child - Troy Huang. Family dinner with mom picking Mexican Food. We shared and couldn’t finish everything. We had pork carnitas, cheese enchiladas, beef taquitos, chicken quesadilla, beef tacos, chicken tacos, and Mexican rice. I think I must have carnitas everywhere. Yum! . . . . . . . .
The meat of the meal. To many too mention - standouts include braised pork belly 紅燒肉 which was decadent, luscious, and rich all in one bite. The roast duck might have been too dry with the steamed buns. The fried fish was gobbled up so fast by everyone. Unfortunately the crab was not too popular. And the tang yuan rice Ball soup dessert was good except for the slightly too sour broth. And the friend dumplings 生煎包 almost had a breading to meat ratio that skewed too much toward the wrong side. And happy 100 days - Troy! . . . . .
Summer Nights at the OC Fair. The bacon corn dog, corn in a cup with cheese, spicy Cheetos corn in a cup, and the giant turkey leg. So much junk food. Yet the consensus was that the food has improved at times he OC Fair. . . . . ._lindoris

Shanghainese lunch at Yummy Rice. Funny name. One of the better shanghainese restaurants in LA. Braised pork was ok. Vegetable fried rice was good. The cold dish of cucumber and diced soy tofu was good. The spicy wontons and fried fish were even better. Recommend! . . . .
Soft Serve dessert at Honey Mee. Interesting. Not too sweet. Just right on a hot summer night. . . . .
Tonkatsu dinner at T.O.T. Restaurant in a Little Tokyo. Teishokuya of Tokyo - T.O.T. I remember the first time I went a long long time ago. We had the pork loin tonkatsu and a potato croquette. Also had a tuna bowl with udon. And couldn’t forget the fried chicken wings. Yum! . . . . .
Cookie that is a cup. Filling of soft serve or cream or milk or cold brew coffee. Cookie variants include cookies & cream, red velvet, chocolate chip, matcha, and others. Pretty good idea. I had the soft serve on this hot AF day. . . . . .
