Fed the wife we had Dan Dan Noodles 擔擔麵, spicy wontons 紅油抄手, and pickled vegetables with pork soup酸菜豬肉湯. Portions were huge, since I guess it is catering to a white clientele. Wontons were really good. Though the noodles were slightly overcooked, the flavor was to my liking. The soup is more Taiwanese, which I liked. Overall we liked it, though we had low expectations. Make sure you say hello to Gina.
Freezing at the Brooklyn Bridge.
Ramen in . We had the tonkatsu ramen and the I shoyu ramen, each with unique broths and ramen noodles. Tonkatsu had thin and more firm noodles with a heavy rich broth. The I Shoyu ramen had a wavy slightly thicker noodle with a little shoyu flavored broth. On a cold night, I believe the tonkatsu is better choice. And any other day, the shoyu would be a fine choice. Didn’t get to try the ox tail ramen (only 20 bowls a day). But did try the stuffed chicken leg with foie gras, which was very interesting with subtle flavor and texture. Thanks for video from But the 1 hour wait sucks. But on a cold winter night the hot soup is just right
Saw some paint on canvas from some dudes - Claude, Paul, another Paul, Henri, and another Henri, Pablo, Salvador, Piet, Georges, Jackson and Vincent. Never go on the busiest week of the year on Free Fridays - OMG crowded.
Sandwiches we had the brisket, corned beef, and pastrami. With the chicken noodle and matzo ball soups. Without the mustard the brisket was quite dry. The corned beef wasn’t as tender as it could be. The pastrami is still what needs to be ordered. The mazto ball soup was a bit too salty and the chicken noodle was much better than expected. This is the busiest week of the year, in which we waited over 45 minutes for a table. And after all my complaints, Katz is still worth it.
Porchetta Sandwich at A tasty sandwich. But was a little disappointed in how they prepared it. I though they were going to pull out a large chunk of the rolled porchetta and have a big slice for my sandwich - instead it was chopped pork from a warming container. I expected bold flavors from the spice rub, yet was overwhelmed by green chutney. Right before they closed the sandwich, they added chopped pieces of the chicarrons/pork skin. If I didn’t I would have been more than happy. Then we also shared the cheeseburger poutine. The kids loved it. I wish they chopped the burger patty, like I asked them to.
BBQ at in we had pork ribs, moist beef brisket, beef rib ends, shredded pork, corn bread, collard greens, and baked beans. So much food. I dig the brisket, baked beans, collard greens, and pork ribs.
Burger, pasta, and cole slaw at House of Blues Great Burger!
Pretty good bbq pork on rice in Vegas. Make sure you ask for fatty pork!
Steaks in Vegas
Roast chicken might be the best crispy chicken skin.
Mild chicken sandwich and mild leg/thigh 📱📷 by . Arrived at 10, an hour before opening, and there was a 30+ ppl line ahead. Left at 11:40ish with a line longer than we arrived.
Sausage and egg sando I love eggs. I could eat this every day. If I lived closer, I just might.
Pizza, pasta, canoli, gelato, and lasagna at the pizza crust was good, but a little greasy in the middle. The Lasagna was pleasantly better than expected. The meat sauce was good. Ate too much. Suggestion: Go early to avoid the crowds and waits
We ate too much. Beef dip, pastrami burger, cheese bread, and red cabbage salad. Yum! I used to like the red cabbage salad more - it is more and more acidic, than I remember.
Pork Sandwich and Bloody Mary I haven’t had it in a long time. Was way better than expected. I liked the bread with the slight crunchy and crispness, chewy. The dip was deal with this chewy bread. The pork pieces were good, but cut a bit too small. The spicy mustard was a nice accompaniment.
Dim sum at Xiang Yuan Gourmet, on Las Tunas in Temple City Creative morsels.
Shaanxi Lunch in Rou Jia Mo 肉夾饃 diced lamb pita and Liang Pi 涼皮 spicy cold noodles were my favorite. The spicy wontons and dry noodles were also quite good, too
Harissa Chicken Sandwich at the .la The Sandwich was quite juicy and flavorful. One of the better chicken sandwiches ever.
Pizza and pasta at Thai chicken pizza, an old favorite. Spaghetti bolognese and Penna with sun dried tomatoes.
Snackin’ and Feastin’ at the Tom Yum Spicy Fried Chicken skin was amazing (yes I shouldn’t use amazing, but it was). also had the spicy Chicken sando with the bolo bun (HK Bolo (pineapple) bun) from and we had the coconut sundae with oink guava and another ice cream I expect a few more food vendors but we were already quite full. But all the vendors were quite good.
Texas BBQ at yummy pulled pork and smoked brisket.
Burgers and fish at Stinko 2.0 - burger with caramelized onions, the channel island rock fish - halibut, and French Fried Onions Rings. The burger was very good, but the fries were even better. I like the burn crispness, but after awhile they were too greasy.
“That’s what a hamburger’s all about!”
