Chinese Skewers Beer House with chicken thigh, cheese & chicken, beef, lamb, quail eggs, sausage, eggplant, and spicy black rice noodles. Too bad they ran out of a lot of stuff. We will certainly be back.

Our 3rd visit to The Broad. Nice little afternoon visit with a 40 minute wait.
Shabu Shabu beef quality was good. The broth was meh. The kombu was ok. The popular spicy miso was a strange combination. My wife likes it. I think my mom would like this place.
Korean BBQ in the has one of the longest waits. I’m glad that this area gets more Korean food options. But I’ve been told that the KTown location is better. I can’t really tell the difference. Tonight, we had beef brisket and spicy pork belly. The brisket was great but the spicy pork belly was too sweet. I liked the kimchi fried rice a lot, with the box shaking presentation.
One of my favorite ramen shops in LA. Super crowded on a Saturday night. It strangely they are now the Spirit Airlines of ramen, which means everything is a la carte. Their basic ramen is just noodles, broth, green onions, ginger, and a couple of slices of pork. Everything else, like typical the typical egg, bamboo shoots, corn, seaweed, etc is extra. Sure they have preset combinations - which is so American. Anyways.m, I still like the place, but hate the wait. Check out their big festival at the beginning of September st their Gardena location. I think we might just go. .restaurant.gr
Carnitas Kikos Jr. since 1964, located in Mercado Hidalgo. No one spoke English, so I had to have google translate to help me order. I had no idea what surtidos (little of everything) or meciza (solid chunks) was. After looking it up - that’s what I ordered. It was good and just what we were looking for. Washed it down with Jamaica and some Coke.
Short trip to Tijuana. Got to visit Hotel Caesar for the famous Caesar Salad. walked a bit on Avenida Revolución, visit Mercado Hidalgo, history museum of Tijuana, bought a Los Angeles Dodgers Mexican Backpack, and had some carnitas tacos. Met a nice retired cop, named Mario, who owned a store and gave us great tips! Drove a total of 5.5 hours round trip. Would visit again!
The Caesar Salad at Hotel Caesar in Tijuana. Invented in 1927, this is where it all began. The Caesar Salad is my favorite salad.
6 hour fishing tour, sounds like Gilligan’s Island. Off San Pedro pier on the Fishing boat Monte Carlo. Unfortunately, no bass or cod - we only caught ones that were too small to keep. We did get to catch some small mackerel. Got to feed some seagull some of our live bait. We will do it again! Thanks to ptwoo and Bosco
First hike ever to Chantry Flats and Sturtevant Falls. Lived nearby for years and have never visited the famous falls. A bit sore. big thanks to and . Next time we go to and jump off the cliff
Chairman Bao (pork belly) and dumpling bao (pork and chicken) the chairman bao is luscious and juicy! Dumpling bao is spicy.
